ReelDeel
Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
ReelDeel (“we”) edits short-form videos for businesses. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and your choices. Questions: hello@reeldeel.xyz.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and login information.
- Your business profile: name, category, location, website, social handles, brand preferences and logo.
- Content you give us: footage, photos, voice recordings and briefs you upload or create in ReelDeel.
- Google Drive (only if you connect it): read-only access to the one folder you choose, so we can catalogue the files in it. We never change or delete anything in your Drive.
- Social data exports (only if you upload one): from your TikTok or Instagram export we keep only the list of videos you liked, saved or reposted — your file is read on your own device and the rest of it never reaches us.
- Facebook and Instagram (only if you connect them): your Pages and Instagram business accounts, their posts and their numbers (followers, reach, views, likes, comments) so we can show you how your content performs. We read only — we never post, comment or message without you asking.
- YouTube earnings (only if you allow it on the Earnings page): YouTube's revenue estimates for your own channel. They are read from YouTube when you open that page and shown only to you — we don't store them.
- Your voice (only if you record it in your profile and tick the box to agree): the recording is sent to ElevenLabs to make an AI copy of your voice, used only for voiceovers in your own videos. We don't keep the recording — only a reference to the voice — and you can delete the voice from your profile at any time, which also removes it from ElevenLabs.
- Your character (only if you scan your face in your profile and tick the box to agree): the scan runs in your own browser and takes photos of your face from several angles. Only those photos are kept, in our private storage — no measurements of your face and no "face fingerprint". They are used to draw you in your own concept videos and previews. Photos are sent to an image provider (Google or OpenAI) only when you ask for a picture of your character to be made, or when you ask for a description to be drafted from them. You can delete your character from your profile at any time, which deletes its photos.
- Waitlist details: name, business name and email if you join the queue.
- Basic usage and technical data needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- To make your videos: plan, edit, check and deliver them in your brand's style.
- To show you insights: businesses in your sector (“Peers”), trends, sounds and hashtags.
- To run your account, support you, and keep the service secure.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to advertise to others.
AI and service providers
We use trusted providers to run ReelDeel. They process data on our behalf:
- Google (Gemini AI, Google Drive, YouTube and Maps data), OpenAI (planning edits) — on paid plans that don't train on your data.
- AudD (song recognition) — only for the public videos we study: it listens to a few seconds to name the song; it never receives your own videos.
- ElevenLabs (AI voices) — only if you save your voice in your profile or a video uses an AI voiceover.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram, only for accounts you connect).
- Posting a story (only when you press the button): the photos you choose are held in our private storage for the moment it takes to hand them to Instagram or Facebook, and deleted straight after. Photos you share to another app from your phone go from your phone to that app and do not pass through us.
- Pinterest (only if you connect it): ReelDeel reads your own boards and pins, read only. For the boards you add to your taste we keep each pin's words and main colour, and a short description of the board's look that an AI model (Google Gemini) writes after looking at a few of its pictures. The pictures are not copied, nothing is used to train AI models, and all of it is deleted when you disconnect Pinterest.
- Camstamp: a photo is stamped on your own device and is never sent to us. A video you choose to stamp is uploaded to our private storage, read for its recording time, format and device, stamped, and offered back to you; the upload is deleted as soon as it has been stamped and the result one day later.
- Are.na (only if you add a channel to your taste): ReelDeel reads what Are.na shows publicly about that channel. We keep each block's title, words and the address of its picture, and a short description of the channel's look that an AI model (Google Gemini) writes after looking at a few of its pictures. The pictures are not copied, and all of it is deleted when you remove the channel.
- Pexels, Unsplash and Pixabay (free picture libraries): when the Glossary or an idea shows example pictures, the search words (a technique's name, or a few words describing a shot) are sent to them, never anything about you. The pictures are shown from the libraries themselves, so they see your browser load them.
- Canva (only if you connect it): ReelDeel starts designs in your own Canva, passes on the photos you choose to edit there, and fetches the finished pictures of the designs started from ReelDeel. We keep a list of those designs, not the designs themselves, and the list is deleted when you disconnect Canva. A picture you send to Canva is then held by Canva under your Canva account.
- Supabase (accounts and database), Cloudflare (file storage), Vercel (website hosting), GitHub (running our editing jobs).
Google user data
ReelDeel's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Drive access only to catalogue and use the files you chose for your own videos.
How long we keep it
- Raw footage you upload is deleted 30 days after your video is delivered.
- Business details from Google Maps and YouTube numbers about other businesses are refreshed or deleted within 30 days.
- To learn what makes short videos work, we study publicly available videos: YouTube Shorts through YouTube's own service, and a small number of TikTok and Instagram videos that a person at ReelDeel watches and writes notes about. We keep our notes about the video (how it opens, how it's made, its numbers on the day) and its link — not the video itself. About the account that posted it we keep only what its public page shows: its name, its follower count, its total likes, how many videos it has posted and the view counts of its recent videos. Of the comments under it we keep the words and their like counts only — never who wrote them, and any @name inside a comment is blanked. If one of the videos is yours and you'd like it removed, write to hello@reeldeel.xyz and we delete it.
- Facebook and Instagram data is kept while the account is connected and deleted when you disconnect it.
- Your account and finished videos stay until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
- Disconnect Google Drive at any time from your Vault.
- Disconnect Facebook or Instagram at any time from Socials — see Data deletion.
- Delete your taste data at any time from the Taste page.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or to delete your account: hello@reeldeel.xyz.
- For each device you are signed in on we keep the browser and the city it last reached us from (not the IP address), so that you can see where your account is open and sign a device out in Settings. It is removed when that device signs out.
- You can deactivate your account yourself in Settings. It is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind (signing in brings it back), and deleted for good after that.
- When an account is deleted we remove its stored files, the account and everything tied to it. Encrypted backups of our database are kept for 8 weeks, so a deleted account can remain inside those until they are removed in turn.
